The Prefab Home industry has undergone tremendous changes and grown stronger, and I find it amazingly interesting to look at cost, quality, and the entire economics of creating a healthy prefab home.
This post is a beginning thread, as I take a curious dive into what a Prefab Healthy Home may look like for you and your family. There are lots of resources to share, and ways to investigate this type of construction. As I mentioned this is a beginning … there is lots more on the horizon!
So, What Are Prefabricated Homes?
Modern prefab homes have the opportunity to be high-quality and very energy efficient. “Prefabricated home” is an umbrella term for modular, panelized, pre-cut, manufactured and shipping-container homes. They are constructed from components made in advance in a factory then transported in sections to the building site for assembly.
Prefab homes also have the opportunity to be energy efficient and sustainable as well; quality controls at the manufacturing site offer multiple inspections, and many builders focus on using sustainable materials wherever possible. Without potential weather delays, construction occurs much faster and labor costs are reduced. Additionally, there is new emphasis on waste reduction that support a lighter footprint in living environmentally friendly with our natural surroundings.
Perception!
This is a big one as many may have less than positive preconceived notions about prefab construction. However, new innovations are transforming prefab home industry, and you’ll be surprised at the large number of styles available these days!
