I have been thinking about how to address the subject of EMF or Electromagnetic Frequencies. In the past couple days, I have been engaged in a couple of conversations around EMF and Wi-Fi Routers; there’s so much information to filter through!
My exposure to EMFs in the 1960’s gives me pause for considerations on how, today, I engage with technology. Not being able to see, hear, taste or smell EMF’s makes it so very easy to dismiss – which can result in health issues from overuse. I am one of the overused and very sensitive to EMF.
With that in mind, I am going to jump forward with a shallow dive; my objective being to increase awareness when it comes to EMF’s and technology, and hopefully help you to take a pause when adding new technology into your lifestyle. Remember almost all of the EMF exposure created today is manmade. In other words, it is not natural for our bodies. The question becomes: how much is too much.
Question to ask yourself:
How Far is Far Enough
There is no definitive answer, however decreasing the distance away from a device decreases its effect. Remember, you are not able to see, taste, smell or touch electromagnetic frequencies.
Ways to Lessen EMF Exposure
What is Reasonable
Everyone is unique and so is the amount of EMF consideration. Additionally, remember that EMF exposure is cumulative.
Measuring your EMF levels is an option and there are a wide variety of meters that will give you a range. I am a proponent of diving deep into education, with an EMF assessment from a technician who is certified in accessing and mitigating solutions.
Personally, the smartest solution for me is knowing where my home is on this scale and how I steward myself around all the technology available, based on information I know has been vetted.
Make Intentional Choices
Staying aware on how much EMF I receive and from where EMF exposure is coming from in my environment is an ongoing adventure, especially with all of the new technologies that come online and the myriad of updates.
Technology is here to stay, and it is both your and my choice on how to engage, and the level to which we do so. This is not always easy for me as I sit here at this moment writing my blog, with a cursor that is jumping around on my screen as I type, reminding me that it is time to take a good break and ground myself.
As an FYII have a meter that gives me an overview of readings around me and I’m available to help you look at readings in your home too; these readings can be a good indicator when it’s time for you to bring in a certified specialist to help with mitigation solutions.
LIVING HEALTHIER is my choice and this is one of the pieces to the puzzle of creating and living in a Health Home.
