It’s been a long winter.
Wet
Cold
Dark
Now that it is February, it is the month of hope. It is just one short month till March and spring.
Till:
Daffodils
To longer days
Warmer Rain
More sunlight
Fresh, fragrant air
During the dark, wet winter we quietly sustained ourselves in the warm cocoon of our home. Stifled by the heavy darkness that descended upon us for days at a time.
But now that spring is close by, we are awakening to the change in the season, just like the flowers starting to pop up from the ground.
Tentatively, we start by cracking open windows on warmer days, letting the fresh air in to clean the stale winter musty smells. We slowly inch our thermostat down, rejoicing when the days comes we no longer need it.
As natural light, once again fills our homes and our hearts, we come alive after months of being dormant, unfolding like the petal of a flower.
We find ourselves craving movement and an urge to engage with the earth. We experience an innate desire to clean, to replenish, start new projects.
Spring is a time for action and reenergizing. Driven by the need for spring-cleaning, we direct our attention to our home and our gardens, but what about our emotional well-being? After all, it was dormant all winter too.
Now is a good time to prepare for spring:
It is now February, the month of hope. We are ready for Spring and all of the wonders it brings.
