How do I get my arms around this huge piece regarding water and our environment? It’s a subject I’ve been sitting with for a couple of months.
As I began to read more about rainwater catchment as the absolute and only way, my challenge was about water recharging and our environment. Thankfully, having had multiple conversations with others knowledgeable in the field, I have been able to unlock my thoughts and am now even more committed to capturing and reusing rainwater.
Catchment is a wonderful, case-by-case and opportunity-by-opportunity solution that benefits our environment.
This is not a new practice to consider! In years gone by, it was the dripping eve that captured water in a barrel, or some sort of container, that collected rainwater to be reused in a multitude of ways.
And now, here we are today with technology and practices that support sustainable rainwater practices as a means of solving water and energy challenges through the world. As a reminder, there are standards regulating collection and use, nationally and with states and municipalities.
