More and more I am hearing the words carbon neutral and carbon zero around the retrofitting of older homes.
Remember, every action step taken towards carbon neutral, carbon zero and energy efficiency are steps that contribute to your health, the health of our communities and the natural environment.
Where to start?
Consider an Energy Assessment of the envelope of your home to determine where you may have air infiltrating from the outside in and the inside out. This evaluation is a great road map for beginning and connecting with those that are knowledgeable in supporting quality retrofits for your health and comfort.
Most Retrofits Focus On:
Retrofitting an older home provides the opportunity to: 1) reduce carbon emissions; 2) reduce utility costs; 3) reduce wear and tear on mechanicals; 4) bring a higher quality to your indoor air through controlled air exchange.
Consider the immediate increase in your home value and the reduction in your energy costs! Engage with a lender on possible loans that support these upgrades and do engage in incentives and rebates offered by utilities and municipalities.
Set a benchmark for your own home and share in your experience with others!
Living in a home that provides Health, Comfort, Safety and Environmental Harmony is a gift to share and shout about with others.
Let’s begin today with a conversation and a meeting – I have LOTS of resources (including the links below) to share with you!
